Record numbers at our latest Inclusive Community Sports Day!

This week, we have been running our Inclusive Community Sports Days across regional Victoria.

Thanks to the incredible work of our partners and volunteer team, we achieved our greatest ever numbers across all three events!

Many people living with disability struggle to find inclusive sports in their region. This struggle increases with age, especially as they enter adulthood. By running these days, Solve-TAD gives community members the ability to try numerous new sports in a safe and inclusive environment. One of the biggest positive impacts from playing sports is the feeling of community and making new friends! Loneliness is a big issue in the disability community and by running these days, we’re able to bring families, participants, siblings, parents and carers together for one fun-filled afternoon!

All of our sports were run by different local clubs, with the aim of fostering relationships with new players.

Thank you to the following sports and clubs who helped us achieve our greatest ever numbers:

  • Archery (Archery Victoria)
  • Wheelchair rugby (Wheelchair Rugby Victoria)
  • Wheelchair badminton (Badminton Victoria)
  • Dance and roll (Dance & Roll Paradance)
  • Freestyle Dancing (DJ cooper)
  • Lawn Bowls (Lawn Bowls Victoria)
  • Pickleball (Pickleball Victoria)
  • Freedom Wheels customised bikes and trikes (Solve-TAD)
  • Disabled Surfing (Sailability Victoria)
  • Ten Pin Bowling (Oz Ten Pin Bowling)

TAD acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures and to elders past, present and emerging.
